Frequently Asked Questions

Can you enhance or repair audio tapes before or after digitizing?

Yes—within reason. After your audio is digitized, we can often improve listenability with tools such as noise reduction, light equalization, level balancing, and basic editing.

We cannot make a badly damaged or very muffled recording sound brand new, and we will not over-process transfers in a way that removes the character of the original. Physical tape issues (tangled tape, broken shells) are evaluated case by case; some repairs are possible before transfer.

Share details or photos of the media when you request a quote so we can set expectations and recommend only the enhancements that help.
