Audio transfer FAQ
Do you return original audio cassettes, reels, and records?
Straight answer from RVA Rewind, a local media digitizing studio in Richmond, Virginia. We help with Compact cassettes, reel-to-reel, vinyl records, 8-tracks, and other common consumer audio formats we support.
Yes. You receive all of your original analog audio media back along with the newly digitized files. We pack originals carefully for pickup or return shipping. Your tapes, reels, and records remain yours—we do not keep them after the project is finished.
Digital delivery is typically via USB thumb drive and/or download, depending on what you select for the order. That way you can listen on phones, computers, and modern players without wearing out the last good play of a fragile cassette or vinyl record.
Label tapes and note any especially important sides (family messages, rare recordings, or damaged shells) when you send the order. We return media packed to reduce rattle and edge damage in transit.

How this works at RVA Rewind
Personal audio—family messages, homemade tapes, vinyl collections—often exists on media that is hard to play today. A clean digital transfer lets you listen on phones, computers, and smart speakers without risking the last good play of a fragile tape or record.
